“I feel very adventurous. There are so many doors to be opened,
and I’m not afraid to look behind them.”

-Elizabeth Taylor

Gwen’s philosophy is to incorporate massage with skin care as part of an integrated approach to your overall health and well being.   “Understanding how mind and body are interconnected allows me to address imbalances that may be resolved through massage and aesthetics.  Not only does our mental state of mind affect how our bodies internally function, but these imbalances also rise to the surface of the skin.  Knowing which source is the cause of concern allows a treatment plan to be designed specific for that particular issue.  It also allows me to refer the client to the appropriate health care professionals for further review and diagnosis.”

As a Massage Therapist, understanding the underlying causes of pain in the body is just as important as relieving it.  Various aspects are addressed when determining an individual’s overall health and wellness.  By analyzing these facets further, Gwen is able to determine if the origin of pain is physical in nature-caused by injury or repetitive motion or is due to mental exhaustion or emotional distress.Changing the way we approach life can make all the difference in how our bodies respond to it.”Instead of using medication to mask signs and symptoms of disease, incorporating massage therapy into your wellness routine will reduce the onset of disease, therefore preventing the body from relying on medications.

By using a diverse array of modalities, Gwen is able to restore the body so it can resume normal functioning.  Range of motion is increased and pain and discomfort are reduced and/or eliminated.  Gwen’s massage technique is a unified integration of Swedish massage, Myofascial Release, Deep Tissue and Positional Release Therapy.  The use of Trigger Point Therapy, Neuromuscular Facilitated Stretching and hot stones also aids in the release of muscle tension and may be incorporated to enhance the overall treatment.  Thai massage is another form of bodywork that Gwen utilizes which includes therapeutic stretching, joint mobilization and rhythmic, deep tissue compressions to restore balance to the body.

Gwen’s specialty is Lymphatic Drainage massage following plastic and reconstructive surgical procedures.  For more information on Lymphatic Drainage massage, please check out the Lymphatic Drainage massage tab in the menu.

As an Aesthetician in the medical field, Gwen’s primary objectives are treating clients with acne, scarring, hyperpigmentation, uneven skin tone and texture and fine lines and deep wrinkles.  Having battled my own skin issues including adult acne and hyperpigmentation, I now center my attention on those suffering with similar concerns.”  Gwen is able to address these problem areas with the use of varying levels of chemical peels, allowing her clients to see significant improvement in the appearance of their skin.  By incorporating a series of peels and following a recommended home care regimen, the results achieved and overall health and appearance of the skin is maintained.

Gwen strives to be a leader in her industry, by attending continuing education courses that build on her education and training as an Aesthetician and Massage Therapist she is able to provide you with the latest advancements in alternative and complementary medicine.
